Yesterday I was walking around bare-foot in Tia Chabe's house. She looked at me with shock and said (Eliana translated for me), "always wear shoes!". Why? because if you don't, you will get sick.
My throat is sore, i have a headache, my nose is runny... I am told by Eliana's Tio Fernando that these are the symptoms of the barefoot cold.
Live and learn.
On the topic of bare feet, the wedding photos are up! Why does that relate to bare feet, you ask? There is a pretty sassy photo of you, Greg, with your no socks and fancy shoes. Pretty awesome, I love it! Anyway, your barefoot habits are catching up with you eh...funny stuff.
ReplyDeleteHot springs sound amazing. As does the ice cream. And tea and sweets.
I love you guys, and your blog. YAY! Thanks for posting photos, looking forward to seeing even more.
Lotsa love,
Jane-o
I love that it was said with 'shock'! You need some indoor shoes Greg! In Sri Lanka you always have to wear indoor flip flops (separate from your regular outdoor ones), but it has nothing to do with getting sick. If you don't wear them, your feet get stained a very distinct red colour from the clay floor. And then you just look silly.
ReplyDeleteThe Swiss chocolate and banana split ice cream sound delicious, and I'm extremely jealous about having a family bakery. What isn't better than a nice baked good! Also the Hot Springs sound lovely, maybe they will heal you of your barefoot cold!
Feel better Greg! Also if you guys want to maybe take some pictures of some food, that would be a-okay with me. ;-)
Love, Naboba
